The Tampa Bay Ray’s Turn DJ Kitty Scoreboard Gimmick Into Real Life Mascot
As if they need another mascot when they have one already, the Tampa Bay Ray’s have decided to take a scoreboard gimmick that they’ve been showing for the past couple years during games and turn it into a real like mascot. DJ Kitty, the poor cat who “spins” on a DJ Hero controller, is now life sized and ridiculous. He’s got a Flava Flav sort of style to him with his giant cowbell necklace (insert obligatory Saturday Night Life cowbell skit reference here).
He’s not replacing their regular mascot, Raymond, but instead acting as a “secondary mascot”. Those poor DJ Kitty videos will probably be played even more on the scoreboard from now on. I’m all for funny cat videos, but man the poor guy does not look comfortable.
Still, if a cat being moved around as if it were a DJ is a surefire funny thing for you, you’ll love this video (but probably not the old party music choice; Venga Boys, really?)
