RIP Twitter

The title made you look didn’t it? Same thing happens when RIP (Insert Famous Celebrity Here) starts trending on twitter, and quite frankly I’m getting very upset that twitter users are killing off some of my favorite celebrities.

Yesterday, comedian and rapper Donald Glover tweeted “I’m trending! Am I dead?” It seems that lately the trending topics on twitter are not actually relevant to things that are happening in the world. I don’t care that you are in love with Justin Bieber or that you want everyone to replace a word in a movie title with the word “vagina.” Not relevant to my daily life.

You know how twitter has filters by country or region? Maybe they should look into twitter filters like “Things I care about”, “Things I don’t care about”, “Things I only care about when I’ve been drinking”, and “Things no amount of alcohol could ever make me care about.” Let’s just try those for starters.

Things that would not be on my “Things I care about” list: Justin Bieber (sorry Biebs), anything to do with teen pop icons (again sorry Biebs), and false death rumors.

Twitter, stop killing people. It’s not nice.
