Learn More About Mikhail Prokhorov
A billboard featuring Nets owners Jay-Z and Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov has been removed from a building across from Madison Square Garden. The billboard, which also featured the phrase “the blueprint for greatness,” was seen as an attack by the owners of the New Jersey Nets against the New York Knicks, and an attempt to steal members of their fanbase.
While Jay-Z has been a pop culture icon for years now, so little is still known about Mikhail Prokhorov, the Russian Billionaire who bought a controlling interest in the team almost a year ago and automatically became the NBAs tallest team owner (Prokhorov stands at over six and a half feet tall)
Fans know the 45-year-old has a net worth over $13 billion, a fortune he accumulated through companies called “The International Bank for Economic Cooperation” (Doesn’t that just scream TRUST ME!), Norilsk Nickel (a natural resource corporation headquarter in heavily polluted Siberia), and the Russian Biathlon Union (of which Prokhorov currently serves as President).
Oh, and in 2006 he was awarded by the state the “Order of Friendship” for his major contributions to Russias economic growth… an award that sounds like something straight out of Captain Planet.
However, the majority of information New Jersey Nets fans have received was interpreted from a documentary shot exclusively on the life of Rusian Billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov. A clip of the documentary can be seen below:
As we now know, Prokhorov only enjoys the color gold, uses DirecTV, and prefers kissing miniature giraffes over gorgeous foreign models.
Oh, and the Bond villain laugh. He’s got that too.
